Important distinction: The X6 Data Collector app is separate from the main ScanAnalyzer app. Unlike the main app (where geophysical data stays local on your device), the purpose of X6 Data Collector is precisely the voluntary contribution of field data to train our Artificial Intelligence models — therefore it uploads data to our servers, with your explicit consent.

Article 2 — What we collect & upload
For each calibration sample you record, the following is uploaded to our servers:
- GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude, altitude, accuracy) — to geo-reference the sample. Optional: you may record a sample without GPS.
- Magnetometer readings (raw samples + derived signal features — "Magnetic DNA": shape, frequency, statistics) from the phone's magnetometer or an external X6/EKIBI device via Bluetooth.
- Target label (the category you select — e.g. ferrous, non-ferrous, void) plus optional parameters (depth, size, material, sensor height).
- Optional free-text notes you enter.
- Technical metadata: device type, app version, timestamp, session ID, and a device-bound Firebase identifier (UID) (audit trail).
Article 3 — What we do NOT upload
- ❌ The photo itself. If you photograph the target, it is processed locally only on the device to extract numeric shape features (ratios, symmetry, geometry). The image itself is not transmitted.
- ❌ Real name / contact details. We neither request nor upload a name, email or phone for sample collection. The UID is anonymous/device-bound.
Article 4 — Purpose
The data is used solely to train, calibrate and improve the AI models for geophysical signal classification. Each new sample starts as "pending" and undergoes human curation (admin review) before use.
Article 5 — Legal Basis
Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you provide explicitly on the consent screen at first use. You may withdraw it at any time by ceasing use and requesting deletion (Article 8).
Article 6 — Storage & Sub-Processors
- Google LLC — Firebase Authentication: anonymous/device-bound authentication (UID).
- Google LLC — Cloud Firestore (collection
calibration_samples, projectscananalyzer-maps, region Europe /europe-west3): sample storage.
These are Processors (GDPR Art. 28) bound by DPAs.
Article 7 — International Transfers
Where data may be processed outside the EEA (e.g. Google), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and adequacy decisions (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) apply.
Article 8 — Retention & Your Rights (GDPR)
Samples are retained for as long as needed to train/improve the models. You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. To exercise rights or delete your samples (based on your device UID), contact grdetectors@yahoo.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
Article 9 — Minors
The app is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.
Article 10 — Security, Changes & Contact
We apply reasonable technical/organisational measures (encryption in transit, Firestore access rules). Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page. Contact: grdetectors@yahoo.com.
